The building was interesting and the atmosphere was cozy. We appreciated the free herbal tea and the option to stay in a smaller room. The hot tub was a nice bonus and we found a delicious Vietnamese restaurant nearby. It was walking distance to downtown and we enjoyed exploring the city.
No negatives from this place 😊

My stay at Ember was absolutely amazing. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The rooms were quiet and cozy, resulting in the best sleep I had during my trip. The location was convenient, making it easy to explore the city with access to transportation options. The hostel provided various amenities such as complimentary hot tea and a laundry area on site. I had a fantastic experience at Ember and would highly recommend it.
The basement kitchen was a bit small for the number of guests, and there was only one refrigerator available. Additionally, the outdoor patio was designated for 420 use, which limited access for non-smokers like myself.

Our stay at Ember was exceptional! Everything in the description was spot on. The beds were soft and comfortable, and the bathrooms were impeccable. The mansion was quaint and decorated with class. We were impressed by the provision of an ironing board, iron, and handheld steamer. The staff were friendly and the African American male at the front desk brightened our day every morning. The proximity to 16th street was perfect, and there were beautiful restaurants and a Trader Joe's within walking distance. We couldn't have asked for more and wish we could give beyond a five-star rating. The price for this type of lodging is unheard of.

We had a delightful stay at this lovely hostel. The staff at Ember were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with great recommendations for nearby attractions. The standout feature of our experience was undoubtedly the showers. The single rooms had rain-style showers with beautiful tiling, adding a touch of luxury to our stay. Additionally, the hostel provided excellent facilities such as a washing machine and dryer for only $1.50 each, clean toilets and showers, and curtains on each bed. We particularly enjoyed the jacuzzi and bonfire outside, as well as the convenience of a coffee stand with a variety of creamers and milk. The staff, especially Brandon, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction, resolving any issues promptly. We also appreciated the hostel's gesture of upgrading us to a 4-person dorm room to make up for the noisy guests during our first night. it was a fantastic experience.
Couldn't find any faults at all. 😊

The hostel had a great location, close to key attractions and public transportation. The common areas were well-decorated and cozy, creating a relaxed atmosphere. I also appreciated the added security measures, which made me feel safe during my stay.
The staff could have been friendlier and more attentive. It seemed like they were not always approachable or willing to assist with requests.

I had the best sleep in a long time thanks to the amazing beds and mattresses at this hostel. The staff was really nice and helpful throughout my stay, making me feel at home from the beginning to the end. The hostel had a beautiful design, just like in the pictures, with a cool and lively lounge area and an awesome outdoor space. The location was really easy to find, and it was convenient to have free coffee and tea available. this was definitely the best hostel I've ever stayed at, and I highly recommend it!
While the hostel had a great overall atmosphere, I felt that some of the staff were a bit kooky and didn't seem very interested in making guests feel welcomed. the lack of mirrors and hand towels in the bathrooms was a bit inconvenient, and having them located offsite from the bedrooms required going outside to access them.

Great location, within walking distance of everything. The staff was friendly and helpful, making me feel safe as a solo traveler. The hostel was clean and well-maintained, with cozy beds and clean bathrooms. The beautiful outdoor patio was a great place to hang out and meet other travelers.
The common area was smaller than expected, and the basement rooms were quite hot and stuffy. The air conditioner in the room was loud and ran constantly, making it difficult to sleep.

I recently stayed at a hostel in the states and Ember was by far the coolest. The facilities were clean, the staff was friendly, and there was always chill music playing outside by the fire pit bench and the hot tub. The location was perfect, close to capitol hill and B Cycle stations for easy transportation. The beds were comfortable with curtains for privacy, and there were plenty of amenities like board games, water, and coffee available. The common area felt like a mansion, and the price was insanely affordable. I would definitely return.
